In this section, you will find links to other websites that provide useful information to landlords and tenants about the Residential Tenancies Act and other laws dealing with residential tenancies.

Links are provided to websites of:

  • the Government of Canada or Ontario,
  • the non-government public sector, and
  • selected non-profit associations, organizations, or agencies. 

The Board does not provide links to websites of individuals, for-profit businesses, or individual municipal governments in Ontario.

The operators of the sites to which we have provided links are responsible for the content of their sites.  These sites may or may not be available in French.  Any comments or inquiries about these other sites should be directed to the organization that controls the site.

Other Laws

The Residential Tenancies Act is not the only law in Ontario that gives rights and responsibilities to landlords and tenants.  Other laws also provide specific rights and responsibilities.  Some of these are the Human Rights Code, the Condominium Act, the Co-operative Corporations Act, and the Fire Safety and Prevention Act.
