Sylvia Watson


Sylvia Watson was called to the Ontario bar in 1981, after having graduated from York University (B.A.) and Osgoode Hall Law School (LLB).

Sylvia Watson practiced law in the private sector, specialising in litigation, until 1986 when she became Corporate Counsel at Wellesley Hospital.  In 1991 she joined the legal department of the City of Toronto, serving as Director of Litigation until 1996, City Solicitor until 1998, and Corporation Counsel until 2002.

Sylvia Watson was elected as City Councillor for Parkdale-High Park in Toronto in 2003.  She has served on the Boards of a number of arts, business, long term care, and community service not-for-profit organisations for many years.
